Business Development Manager (German Speaking)
At Fairphone we sell our products to consumers, companies and organizations who are keen to support our movement towards a fair electronics value chain. This not only means sales through our own webshop, but also cooperating with like-minded partners in the industry who play a key role in the value chain, such as telecom operators, distributors, retailers/e-tailers and public/corporate procurement.
Here’s the challenge
We are excited for our new Business Development Manager for the German Market to start. From day one, you will be responsible for creating and nurturing enterprise opportunities and partnerships while strengthening relationships with our network of business resellers. Drawing from your prior experience, you will quickly engage prospects and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ownership and strong initiative in previous roles
Excellent communication skills in English with native proficiency in German
Thrive in challenging sales environments
Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated, with a preference for fast-paced startup environments
Exceptional storytelling ability, you will sell much more than a phone
Team player who values diversity and multicultural collaboration
Willingness to live in the Netherlands and eligibility to work within the EU
Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure
Ensure accurate forecasting through proper funnel management
Present the Fairphone story and product portfolio with enthusiasm
Prospect, manage, and close sales with new B2B resellers in Germany
Represent Fairphone at conferences and events in the German B2B market
Develop the GoToMarket plan aligned with Fairphone's mission
Understand target consumers and the role of sales channels and marketing
Prepare sales proposals and reports
Collaborate with internal teams for seamless delivery and service coordination
Three or more years of experience in business development and/or account management in the European mobile phone industry, preferably in the enterprise segment
Passion for sales and understanding of the smartphones or consumer electronics industry
Strong planning skills and ability to drive sales initiatives
Experience building successful partnerships from scratch
Cross-functional team collaboration experience
Familiarity with Google Docs and Sheets for business communication and case development
Experience selling to large organizations directly and through partners
Hands-on, organized, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with native proficiency in German
