About your role

In your role, you will be part of the Impact Innovation team and responsible for performing and reporting on Fairphone’s supply chain due diligence. You orchestrate outreach to suppliers to map the supply chain and collect and assess documentation related to conflict minerals, fair materials, Fairphone’s Code of Conduct (Ways of Working) and wider social and environmental practices. These may include industry templates, supplier self-assessments or independent compliance audits. You can offer guidance to suppliers to ensure we get the right and complete information in a timely manner. 

By screening the EHS and impact performance of suppliers during selection processes, you can advise on the opportunity and risk profiles of candidate suppliers. Based on the assessments, you can help identify further actions that can be taken to improve social and environmental performance. You are comfortable to report the findings and status to Fairphone’s management team and external stakeholders. You will work closely with Fairphone’s Impact Innovation, Product and Supply Chain teams, who are based in the Netherlands, China and Taiwan.

Your responsibilities

  • Performing, analysing and reporting on Fairphone’s supply chain due diligence. 
  • Reaching out to suppliers to map the supply chain and collect relevant data and documents, or arrange assessments, for conflict minerals, fair materials or social and environmental performance. 
  • Maintaining the due diligence overview and databases, while ensuring the relevant documentation is accessible and properly archived 
  • Provide guidance to suppliers to ensure we receive complete information in a timely manner. 
  • Provide recommendations for the further development of the due diligence process 
  • Participate in relevant industry or stakeholder networks

Your skills and experiences

  • You are organised and data-driven. 
  • You are fluent in English and Mandarin. 
  • You have 3-5 years of relevant work experience. You have a good understanding of the global supply chains, preferably with experience in the electronics industry. 
  • You have a good understanding of supply chain due diligence and sustainability, and know the relevant industry standards, certifications, and approaches. 
  • You have an academic degree, preferably with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (EHS or more generic sustainable business practices). 
  • You have good interpersonal and communication skills.
